Rx adherence, proper prescribing could save the U.S. $213B annually

The U.S. could reduce annual health care spending by at least $213 billion if all patients adhere to prescribed drug regimens, generic drugs are used when available, medication errors are reduced and doctors stop prescribing antibiotics to treat viruses, an IMS Institute for Healthcare Informatics study found.
