Detection of colorectal cancer via colonoscopy was linked to lower mortality and cancer recurrence rates compared with other diagnostic methods, according to a study in the journal JAMA Surgery. Patients who were not diagnosed through colonoscopy had a recurrence rate of 13%, compared with 6% for those who had colonoscopy, researchers said.
