Cable firms develop more social TV interfaces

Cable companies such as Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Cox Communications are tweaking their program guides to make them more intuitive to today's users. Subscriber interfaces such as Comcast's just-announced Xcalibur guide, which integrates social media, also are expected to help advertisers, who can use set-top box data to tailor their ad messages to viewers.
