4 steps to overcome the future STEM skills gap

Surya Kant, president of IT consulting firm Tata Consulting Services, shared four steps for overcoming a pending skills gap in science, technology, engineering and math fields during a keynote speech at the U.S. News 2013 STEM Solutions conference in Austin, Texas. Steps include increasing capability, building capacity, enhancing quality and improving ways to become more employable. While these steps sound simple, Kant noted that fulfilling each step will take significant work on the part of U.S. employers and schools.
