On-air royalty requirement not a current threat, NAB says

Direct royalty deals hatched by radio groups likely mean there's no immediate legislative threat of an on-air performance royalty requirement, NAB President Gordon Smith said at the New Jersey Broadcasters Association conference. NAB Senior Vice President Michael Hershey added, "That's not to say this issue won't come back again."
