Contract modification for $1.4B S.C. facility caps construction costs

Construction of the $1.4 billion Salt Waste Processing Facility located at the Savannah River site in South Carolina is now 72% finished, but the work has been delayed several times. The Department of Energy says Parsons Infrastructure & Technology Group "has agreed to a modified contract that caps future construction costs and revises the completion date to Dec. 31, 2016." The agreement includes a schedule incentive and outlines who benefits from cost underruns and who's responsible for cost overruns.
