Supreme Court: Class-action suit against AmEx must go to arbitration

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Thursday that retailers in a class-action claim against American Express must settle the dispute through arbitration. Retailers alleged the company violated federal antitrust laws by forcing them to accept the company's payment cards. The 5-3 decision follows the court's previous rulings that arbitration agreements must be followed if signed.
