US Airways CEO calls for national airline policy

US Airways CEO Doug Parker has not sought out the spotlight, but he will take center stage as the leader of the merged US Airways-American Airlines carrier. Parker said a national airline policy will help the carrier compete in the global market. "[W]e're working very hard together to impress upon our government the need for a national aviation policy that won't put us at a disadvantage to carriers from foreign countries that get [government] support," he said.
