How technology is globalizing education

There remains a disparity worldwide between students with adequate education and those without, suggests Daphne Koller, the Rajeev Motwani professor in the computer science department at Stanford University. In this commentary, Koller, who also is co-founder and co-CEO of Coursera, writes that online education increasingly is removing these barriers, creating a "global classroom." Massive open online courses are available openly, and programs are available to make language accessibility easier, she notes.
