Warming mattresses plus bags for preemies may cause overheating

Preterm infants may get overheated if warming mattresses are added to plastic bags to prevent hypothermia, according to a study in Pediatrics. Irish researchers said hypothermia in NICU infants is linked with higher death rates but babies wrapped just in plastic bags often remain cold.
