At NBCU, it's Hammer time

Bonnie Hammer, the executive who oversees networks USA and Sci Fi and now manages the cable side of the new Universal television studio, has excelled by giving cable audiences a healthy dose of upbeat, generally optimistic programming without insulting their intelligence. And that, according to NBC Universal Chief Executive Officer Jeff Zucker, has made Hammer a major player in the industry: "To say the channels under Bonnie are working is a huge understatement," he said. "Right now USA's track record is unparalleled anywhere else in television."
