Louisiana program promotes leadership to improve struggling schools

Ten underperforming schools from Louisiana's Jefferson Parish are participating in the Louisiana School Turnaround Specialist Program, which aims to boost student achievement by improving leadership among staff members and adopting business-based strategies for school administration. Leadership teams from each school receive training at the University of Virginia, then collaborate with other schools' teams throughout the year.
