40 is a key number for men's waistlines, health risks

American Dietetic Association experts say that when men hit a waistline of 40 inches, they enter a disease-risk zone as too much abdominal fat raises their chances of diabetes, heart disease and some cancers. Registered dietitian Manuel Villacorta says a healthy diet, reducing stress, exercise and adequate sleep can help men keep their waistlines under control, along with watching portion sizes and reducing alcohol intake.
