Wireless spectrum decision may lead to home fetal monitoring

An FCC decision dedicating spectrum to medical wireless monitoring devices will allow clinicians to monitor patients in or outside hospitals. Existing Medical Body Area Networks would allow for the use of home fetal telemetry devices, so that high-risk pregnant women would not have to be hospitalized and hooked up to fetal monitors.
