HTML5's browser-based platform is catching on with mobile-game developers, meaning advertisers will shortly have to follow suit in developing mobile ads in HTML5, Peter Driessen writes. The programming language has appeal, since it can be used to create games that work across multiple devices, although a recent NPD Group report found that HTML5 still needs further development before it's ready for mainstream use by application developers.
