Microsoft and Oracle have announced a partnership in enterprise cloud services. Under the agreement, Oracle software will run on Windows Azure as well as the Windows Server Hyper-V software. "This deal gives Microsoft clear competitive advantages against two of its top rivals," said James Staten of Forrester Research, citing VMware and Amazon Web Services. Oracle co-President Mark Hurd said partnering provides customers "flexibility" in how they access and use software.
