Growing number of D.C. apartments could forebode renter's market

Almost 10,000 new units have been added to the Washington, D.C., rental market since the beginning of 2012, and nearly one-third of those sit empty. In addition, almost 9,000 units are slated for completion in the next year, adding supply to the market at a time when demand is generally below historical levels.
