IRS also targeted liberal groups, documents show

The Internal Revenue Service gave extra scrutiny toward not only conservative groups with "Patriots" and "Tea Party" in their names but also liberal groups with "Occupy" and "Progressive" in their names, according to IRS documents. The IRS also told employees to "be on the lookout" for organizations involved in matters relating to "disputed territories in the Middle East," medical marijuana and support for overhaul of the U.S. health care system.
