It takes an engineer to grant the Good Housekeeping seal

The Good Housekeeping seal of approval is not earned easily, but the engineers who test a myriad of products can have a blast doing so, says mechanical engineer Erik Eibert. Machinery does most of the work, stressing fabrics for abrasion resistance, dropping various products from given heights to test durability and pushing around vacuum cleaners. But Eibert says the most fun he has had came when road testing electric cars.
