Mich. school district seeks curriculum consistency

School officials at Bay City Public Schools in Michigan are taking steps to improve student performance on the Michigan Merit Examination and ACT. Data show students did not make gains over last year. "We still have work to do," superintendent Doug Newcombe said. He noted that changes have been made to middle- and high-school math requirements, and reiterated that the district plans to move forward with new common core standards despite funding delays in the legislature.
