Pfizer warns of counterfeit and mishandled drugs

Pfizer officials are warning about the worldwide danger of counterfeit drugs and drugs that are mishandled in shipments between countries, including those sold via the Internet. In remarks prepared for a London conference, Pfizer's chief of global security warned against Internet sales and also "parallel packaging," in which drugs made in one country are repackaged for another. Pfizer warns that repackaging raises the danger of drugs being tampered with or counterfeit versions entering the supply chain.
