VA/DOD to explore sharing EHRs through study

The Defense and Veterans Affairs departments are planning a study to determine the scope, costs and risks of sharing inpatient electronic health records. The study, which will begin in July, intends to define "a seamless approach for a joint EHR" between the two departments, the acting chief information officer of DOD's Tricare Management Activity said.
