Report: NBCU close to finalizing big upfront deal

NBC Universal is close to finalizing a large upfront deal with buying shop GroupM that includes cable and broadcast inventory in prime time, according to this story. While the firms involved officially are saying no deal has been completed, unnamed sources say GroupM will pay 7% less than last year's upfront for the broadcast avails, while the cable inventory will sell for between the same rates as last year to 2% less.
