Rules proposed for usage-based auto insurance in California

Proposed rules for usage-based auto insurance will be open for public comment until July 9, announced California Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner. The suggested regulations are aimed at measuring the exact number of miles driven by customers in order to determine reasonable auto-insurance pricing. They are also in line with state Proposition 103, which would mandate annual driving mileage as one of the factors in establishing rates for auto coverage.
