Women too often miss out on top executive positions because they "discount themselves" and "self-select" themselves out of the competition, said Cecile Munoz, president of U.S. Executive Search & Consulting. Countless women allow their careers to stall out, often at the level of senior vice president, she said. Business needs a greater female presence in the executive suite, Munoz said.
