Providers aren't pushing for fast fix to Medicare cut

Some hospital and physician groups have indicated that the push to address the 2% Medicare cut under sequestration could wait until fall. Debates over the debt ceiling and next year's budget could provide a window when action is possible, according to Chip Kahn of the Federation of American Hospitals. The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization is preparing to issue a report this summer on the impact of sequestration. The cut could total $11.35 billion overall by Oct. 1, according to the CMS.
