Microsoft has been busy enhancing its upcoming Windows Server 2012 R2. A look at the beta version indicates the platform will let data-center managers operate centers like standalone PCs and provide easy interoperability between data centers. "Meaningful improvements to storage, management, configurability and virtualization make this a release that on its merits is absolutely worth having," Jonathan Hassell writes.
