BoE's King voices concerns about pressure on regulators

Mervyn King, outgoing governor of the Bank of England, has accused politicians of inappropriately lobbying financial regulators on behalf of the industry. Banks are striving to ease capital requirements, King says, but regulators have resisted. He also says the Prudential Regulation Authority and other regulators need to be allowed to perform their mandates free of political pressure applied on behalf of financial firms.
