How unlocking the brain's secrets can make driving safer

Scientists at Intel Labs are studying the nuances of human concentration in the hopes that brain science will provide the insights necessary to create platforms for enhancing road safety. The researchers are running studies on drivers using scanning technology known as near infrared spectroscopy to measure cognitive functioning under different road scenarios. The results could one day lead to in-car technology that can sense a driver's level of concentration and automatically make adjustments.
