Rising sea levels pose a risk to Md. coastline, scientists say

Maryland needs to plan for ways to reduce the impact of a potential 2 feet in sea-level rise over the coming four decades, according to scientists in a report commissioned by Gov. Martin O'Malley. "We've got tide gauges that show us sea level is increasing. This is a real phenomenon. We should take it seriously and have to plan for it," said Donald Boesch of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science.
