SEC approves FINRA plan for public complaints

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority's plan to publish more detailed complaints against brokers and firms, instead of the short summaries now posted to BrokerCheck, has been approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Opponents argue that the plan could lead to harmed reputations and that many brokers will likely opt to fight the charges instead of settling out of court.
