Senate panel hears of conflict in drugmaker-doctor relations

Nearly two-thirds of the cost of continuing education courses in medicine is sponsored by drugmakers, according to testimony at a Senate committee hearing. A pharmaceutical industry executive said funding of continuing medical education is an important way to give physicians the latest medical and scientific research news.
