Mobile devices quicken pace of learning in bilingual classroom

Sixth-grade teacher Francisco Nieto encourages his 30 students, who are all English language learners, to bring their own mobile devices to class, where there are only five aging desktop computers. Nieto, a certified Spanish bilingual teacher, says the devices are useful for quick access to basic language tools such as spell check. "They have the speed of the Internet in their hands," Nieto said.
