Barnes & Noble predicts sales decline

Barnes & Noble is predicting a high single-digit decline in same-store sales for fiscal year 2014, as some publishing executives say the bookstore chain is taking a cautious approach to stocking shelves that includes cutting back on the number of physical books it carries and adding games, toys and other merchandise in an effort to compete with Amazon and other rivals. A company executive, however, said the number of titles has remained consistent over the last few years.
