Dow Chemical takes flexible approach to work-life balance

Companies are refining how they help employees balance work and home life, and Dow Chemical is taking a flexible approach that gives workers ownership of their schedules and encourages managers to talk with them about creating mutually beneficial working arrangements. Maria Lund of First Sun EAP said companies should have some uniform policies for all employees, but that it is important to train managers to balance employee and corporate needs.
