Farm-law extension is possible as Congress keeps at bill

While some Senate leaders oppose, lobbyists say they expect Congress to extend the 2008 farm law, as lawmakers wrangle over a bill. Items including trade, conservation and farm programs are covered in the bill, but the House defeated it. If lawmakers can't reach an agreement, consumers will see the price of milk increase. "The House had better figure out a way of getting a farm bill to conference, so we can get a bill to the president," said Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.
