FDA allows Aethlon to test Hemopurifier for HCV treatment

The FDA has granted Aethlon Medical investigational device exemption approval to conduct human feasibility trials of its Hemopurifier system, which is used in extracorporeal blood filtration procedures. The San Diego company will initially test the device in 10 end-stage renal disease patients infected with the hepatitis C virus.
