FINRA drops plan for oversight of nonsecurities activity

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority says in a regulatory filing that it has withdrawn a proposal to force brokerages to supervise brokers' activity unrelated to securities. The proposal had drawn strong opposition from brokerages. FINRA already requires brokerages to be aware of nonsecurities activity.
