A Gallup study found that health care leaders should encourage transparency, restrict the use of temporary staff and ensure adequate staffing to promote patient safety. Other factors include encouraging and responding to feedback from staff, monitoring the transfer of information about patients during shift changes and ensuring staff are aware of medical errors.
