Project ECHO is expanding with the launch of a national institute at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque. The ECHO Institute will replicate a "telementoring" model started 10 years ago that involves the use of videoconferencing to allow primary care providers in rural areas to consult weekly with medical specialists about ways to better treat patients with chronic conditions.
