Study: Family travel expected to rise this summer

More families are expected to go on a trip this summer, according to the latest survey by Choice Hotels International and FamilyFun Magazine. Expected overnight leisure travel of more than 100 miles round trip rose to 83%, from 78% last year. Ninety percent of respondents said they plan to travel by car this summer. "The great American road trip is back. I believe people are becoming more confident about their jobs, and they're planning to hit the road this summer," said Choice CEO Steve Joyce.
