Tech sector ahead of the curve on gay marriage

As the nation reacts to Wednesday's Supreme Court rulings on same-sex marriage, leading technology companies say they have known for years that supporting gays and lesbians in their firms is good business. Industry stalwarts such as Apple, Google, Facebook and Microsoft -- some of which joined in an amicus brief in support of same-sex marriage -- were early pioneers in advancing equal treatment in the workplace. "To be successful, it's critical that we have a workforce that is as diverse as our customers," said Microsoft's Brad Smith.
