Traumatic brain injury tied to stroke risk in large study

People with traumatic brain injury had a 30% increased risk of stroke compared with those who had trauma to other areas of the body, U.S. researchers found. The study, which involved more than 400,000 TBI patients and more than 700,000 trauma patients without brain injury, appeared online in the journal Neurology.
