Klout lets marketers identify their top influencers

Klout, the social-influence measurement service, hopes to create a kind of marketing that hooks brands up directly with the people most likely to pass on their message to their target audience. The service uses automated metrics to assess social-media mavens' influence and to help marketers reach out to the key influencers in their sector. "It's building an algorithm that's people ranked, rather than page ranked," says founder Joe Fernandez.
