CMS sees 17% drop in EHR incentive initiative participation

CMS data show 17% of eligible providers who received 90-day meaningful use incentive payments in 2011 either dropped out of the program or were not able to meet requirements the next year. Satisfaction with EHR systems and costs were associated with the decline in participation, researchers said.
