Human study of iPS cells advances toward approval in Japan

A panel of Japan's Health Ministry has approved a clinical study involving induced pluripotent stem cells. The study is a type of pretrial clinical research that will focus on the use of iPS cells in treating eye disease. The decision could pave the way for final approval by the health minister.
