Travel agents participating in a recent industry conference said they have noticed the growing medical-travel trend. In an informal poll, 71% of respondents said the medical-travel market provides an opportunity for travel agencies. Anne Marie Moebes, executive vice president of Well-Being Travel, noted agents must avoid giving anything that could be considered medical advice. "We believe we [the travel-agency industry] have to stay away from the medical side and focus on the areas of our expertise -- the travel side, especially transportation and hospitality," Moebes said.
