Nurse staffing influences patient satisfaction scores

Hospitals conducting patient satisfaction surveys should dig deeper into the conditions behind the results, especially staffing levels, to make the results truly useful, said Susan King, executive director of the Oregon Nurses Association. Data show that nurse staffing levels have a direct effect on quality care in hospitals and can influence many patient satisfaction measures, she says.
