Feds scrap plan for nuclear-fuel-reprocessing facility in South Carolina

Plans that could have led to construction of a nuclear-fuel-reprocessing facility in South Carolina have been canceled by the U.S. Department of Energy. "At this point, [the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership], as a concept, is dead, but the issue of what to do with this material isn't," said Danny Black, the president of Southern Carolina Alliance, a development consortium.
