Studying how much coffee drinkers spend at Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks may offer a glimpse into how confident consumers are feeling about the economy, according to one economist. "[A] tell-tale sign of how consumers feel about employment, income and the future is where they buy their coffee and whether they step up for the more expensive concoction," wrote economist Steve Blitz.
